The virus uses a two–stage attack on a Macintosh. In the first stage, the virus copies the resources into the System. In the second stage the virus infects applications.
When an application is infected the virus changes the CODE 0 resource to jump to the CODE 256 resource before returning to the application’s code.

A symptom of the virus is occasionally on starting an application a beep will sound. If MacInTalk is installed, the virus will cause the Mac to say “Don’t Panic!” rather than beeping.
